Interface overview

All Writer uses a three-column layout tuned for structured writing:

Left sidebar

• File tree — folders and files for the project
• References — supplementary material
• Resize — drag the edge

Special folder: @system holds project rules the Agent reads—see AI features.

Actions: click to open, right-click for new/rename/delete, drag to reorder.

Center — editor

Powered by Milkdown (Markdown + WYSIWYG):

• Full Markdown, math (KaTeX), Mermaid, code highlighting
• Auto-save and save status
• Toolbar for format, insert, export

Right — AI panel

Chat with the AI Agent, see task status, confirm high-risk actions, and review diffs before keeping edits.

Top toolbar

• Project name, back to project list, progress
• Toggle sidebars, theme (light/dark)
• User menu (account, settings, language)

Modes

• Focus — minimize chrome for writing
• Distraction-free — full-screen editing
